9 Places to Use Your Visual Branding

A strong visual brand is all about recognition and the best way to increase recognition is to increase the frequency your audience sees your branding. Your brand identity should act as communication to your audience reaffirming your values for them and reminding them of why they enjoy and trust you. How do you achieve that? Be constantly communicating.

*The opportunity to showcase your brand identity in different ways will vary some depending on your industry and how you interact with your customers.*

Here are 10 ways to start off strong getting your brand out there:

  1. Signage

If you have any sort of brick and mortar location then this is simply a no-brainer. From a sign hanging above your front door to a decal on the window and even maybe a wall mural, you want people to have no questions about where they are when they walk into your space.

  2. Social media

Whether it be Instagram, Tik Tok, or any other social media platform your visual branding should be an aid to your marketing strategy. This doesn’t have to take the shape of splashing your logo everywhere, but your brand colors, patterns, and icons can be a great complement to your content.

  3. Packaging

Packaging can mean so many different things and will vary greatly if you are a service-based business rather than selling physical products. Using your visual branding on your packaging can be boxes, tape, disposable coffee cups, you name it.

  4. Stationery

Every communication you have with other businesses or customers should be branded. Sending a copy of a contract to your lawyer? Branded envelope. Sending a P&L to your accountant? Branded stationery. This doesn’t have to be letterhead specific, there are so many other options. Heck, even branded sticky notes are possible!

  5. Merchandise/apparel

Who doesn’t love a branded shirt, hat, or coffee cup? “Merch” has had a huge resurgence in the past few years as being trendy but in reality it is a staple marketing item. Having wearable and usable options for loyal consumers and clients strengthens your brand through recognition but also through social proof like a little recommendation from a friend.

  6. Email signature

How many emails do you send in a day? Are they branded? Your email signature gives the opportunity for one more recognition point before they reply or take action.

  7. Business cards

These might be antiquated to some but whatever you believe, they are still a marketing opportunity to showcase your visual brand and increase visibility.

  8. Stickers

Laptops, waterbottles, e-reader cases- they’re all begging for a sticker from the place you love. These vinyl stickers have taken on a life of their own and allow people to show their personality through the things they love.

  9. Menus or instruction cards

This will also vary depending on your industry and business but any sort of physical material you would hand to a customer or send in an order should be branded with your identity.

Marketing is based in communication and your visual brand is nothing short of one of your strongest tools to reach your community. Is there such a thing as too much? I’ll let you be the judge.
